Videos Capture the Magic of Startup Weekend Dubai

Startup Weekend Dubai was held 20-22 October, 2012 at the Madinat Jumeirah. This was the first ever Startup Weekend event in the UAE, which brought together more than 400 participants – entrepreneurs, designers, developers and startup enthusiasts – along with five judges and 24 mentors from academia, government, industry and private business. The event was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who attended the event to hear participants pitch ideas and to present awards to the winning teams, including the generous offer of one year incubation at Dubai SME, including free office space and funds for startup costs.

I’ve been to many, many events, but this one was unique for many reasons, not least the energy and excitement everyone shared – not just the competitors, but the mentors, judges and spectators.
